The city of San Antonio was put on hold last night while Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny was performing at the Alamodome in front of more than 50,000 fans who awaited him for so long.

Luckily for us, the “World’s Hottest Tour” had a stop in our city and The Heart Sounds was one of the few media outlets invited to cover this extraordinary event, considered by many as “the concert of the summer”.

DJ Diplo

The night started with DJ Diplo, who was wearing a Spurs t-shirt. After playing so many Latin hit songs for an hour, left a crowd anxious for more. The DJ will be back in Texas as part of the lineup of ACL 2022 both weekends in October.

Bad Bunny

It was 8:30pm when the lights went down and the big palms on stage got illuminated. There he was, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, sitting on a beach chair in front of a cooler and an euphoric crowd.

Photographers struggling to get the best shots while the whole stadium was still walking in front of them holding their phones up in the air filming the start of the concert. It was a funny and very loud chaos.

“San Antonio! Thank you so much for your love!” the singer yelled to his fans. “I really want to thank everyone for the love and attentions since I arrived to San Antonio 3-4 days ago. I can honestly feel your love” he said.

A show on the beach!

During his more than 2 hours show, Bad Bunny kept interacting with the crowd, talking about his past, his career and even took the time to talk with a couple in the crowd who was dressed as a sun with a sign asking him to invite them to dance on stage with him.

The stage was decorated to give the appearance he was on the beach, with big palms on the sides, a floor that looked like small sand dunes and a big screen showing clouds and flowers images, mountains, and a bright sun. Many of the people who attended the show were wearing shorts, t-shirts, the girls just tops and many a fisherman hat. It really felt like we were on the beach.

Special guests on stage

Joined by 20 dancers during some of the songs, the show was amazing, full of great songs, great choreographies, illumination, and a very happy crowd. Benito played songs from his early days up to the album he is currently promoting, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’.

During one of the first songs, Bad Bunny invited another Puerto Rican singer, “Chencho Corleone” to perform a song they sing together, ‘Me Porto Bonito” and during “Ignorantes” he invited Panamanian singer “Sech”.

More than 30 songs were part of his setlist that included hits such as “Tití Me Preguntó”, “Callaíta”, ‘Safaera”, “Yo Perreo Sola”, “Chambea” “Dákiti” “Yo No Soy Celoso” among others.

We cannot thank enough to the Live Nation team who made sure we as media had everything we needed to be safe and do our job at the venue in the middle of a wild happy crowd.

Have you ever seen a bunny fly?

Bad Bunny sang two songs on top of his small piece of island, “El Coco” and “La Canción” while we was moved around the whole Alamodome stadium. It was quite an experience to see that but fans were thrilled to have his idol on top of them!
