Last night was the conclusion of one of the best international festivals of the world!

We are talking about Austin City Limits Music Festival that this year included so many great bands that the whole festival seemed to be full of headliners! Yes, it was that great!

So, for those who couldn’t attend ACL’s 2022 Edition we want to tell you about our great experience and share some photos with you of what happened this weekend in Austin, TX.

FRIDAY

Our Friday started with a nice weather, making our lives a lot easier while we walk (or run) from one stage to another. We were able to enjoy Noah’s Cyrus performance. Her set included songs such as “Unfinished“, “Hardest Part” and “I Got So High That I Saw Jesus“, “Make Me (cry)” and to finish “July“.

Right after her, it was the turn for Conan Gray who had a lot of people waiting for him. His show is full of energy and he runs on stage from one side to another while fans sing along with him. With only 23 years old, his future looks great ahead. Some of the songs he played included “Disaster“, “The Exit“, “Overdrive“, “Maniac” and “Memories“.
On the other side of the field, Arlo Parks was starting her show followed by French pop-electronic L’Impératrice who had everyone dancing with their great music.

At the Honda stage, it was the turn for another French band, Phoenix. Their show was full of energy and even though they have been a little away from stages, people love them. Thomas Mars mentioned he wanted to bond more with the people, but due to the short time they had, the communication was going to be trough music. “Lisztomania“, “Entertainment“, “Girlfriend” and of course “Trying to Be Cool / Drakkar Noir” and to finish their awesome show “1901

On the opposite side of the field and with a totally different style, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats were also giving one hell of a show. Their folk and vintage rhythm & blues really had everyone singing and dancing. Made us all feel like we were in an old western saloon. “The Future“, “You Worry Me“, “Survivor“,”Hey Mama” and without leaving it out, international hit “S.O.B

The Chicks

With their unique style, the girls from The Chicks gave a show full of great music, amazing voices and songs full of feeling.

It was more than 20 songs that their show included. Songs such as “Sin Wagon“, “Texas Man“, “The Long Way Around” and “Sleep At Night” were just a few to start warming engines.

Cowboy Take Me Away“, “Long Time Gone” continued right before playing a few covers, “Daddy Lessons” from Beyoncé, “Landslide” from Fleetwood Mac and “Truth #2” from Patty Griffin.

It was a great show to finish the first night of the festival.

SATURDAY

Second day of the festival, the moment we arrived we realized it was going to be a very busy and little chaotic day because of the amount of people who got there super early.

The reason? Every great band playing that day! One side had Boy George & Culture Club, who was a hit to our nostalgia with songs like “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya“, “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me“, “Miss Me Blind“, and “The War Song“. Sadly, he extended his time while performing “Karma Chameleon” and sound was turned off abruptly. The other side had Sofi Tuker, basically the whole festival went to see Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern performance. It was just great! We couldn’t stop dancing and singing together with the other thousands and thousands of fans.

Then it was time to see a show we knew in advance was going to be an amazing one, Lil Nas X, who was one of the reasons Saturday was super crowded. With a show that is structured in 3 Acts: Rebirth/Transformation/Becoming, the singer gave such a great performance you never get bored and just waiting for what’s next. Songs such as “Old Town Road / Rodeo“, “That’s What I Want“, “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)“, “Industry Baby” were some of the songs that made the whole crowd go crazy! It was a really good performance.

P!NK

Where do we start…? P!nk was incredible! Literally song “Get the Party Started” was the perfect choice to start the party on a Saturday night!

With a total of 18 songs, the singer took us through a tour of her best hits and some covers she said are songs she wished she wrote because she loves them.

Raise Your Glass“, “Just Like A Pill“, “Who Knew“, “Try” and “Just Give Me A Reason” were just the first songs she sang to an euphoric crowd that couldn’t believe the amazing show we were all witnessing. After these, it was time for the selection of covers that included “River” by Bishop Briggs, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan, and “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blonds.

The show continued with other great songs such as “I’m Here“, “What About Us” and “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” before she disappeared from stage to appear in the middle of the crowd getting ready to fly over the audience while singing “So What” and doing an aerial routine.
Perfect way to finish a Saturday night!

SUNDAY

On Sunday, the sun was really hitting Austin, but they were some great acts that day that we couldn’t miss.

Yungblud, the British singer, composer and musician gave one of the shows with more energy of the weekend. Running and jumping the whole time, asking the crowd to make a space in the middle and creating a massive mosh pit, it was a really great show to watch. Spoon brought a concert full of great songs. They started with one their latest singles “Wild“, followed by “Do You“, “Inside Out” and “The Underdog“.

On another stage, it was the turn for Puerto Rican/American band The Marias, brought their touch of psychedelic soul-indie pop to ACL. With songs “Only In My Dreams“, “Clueless“, “Otro Atardecer” were she sings together with Bad Bunny in his new album. Also cover “…Baby One More Time” from Brittney Spears. And for the last, “Cariño

Of course, the whole ACL crowd got together in front of the main stage to see the performance and return of Paramore. It was impressive to see how many people gathered to listen to Hayley Williams and her gang.  Their show included songs “Hard Times“, “Still Into You“, “Missery Business” joined by Pinkphanteress on stage.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The most anticipated event of the night was without doubt the show of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with the awesome return of John Frusciante back on stage with the rest of the gang.

With some technical difficulties at the beginning, were only the stage monitors were turned on with no audio to the crowd during the initial Intro Jam, the production team was able to fix it right on time to enjoy “Around The World“.

Followed by “Dani California” were Anthony used a few seconds to sing happy birthday to fellow member Flea since it was his birthday.

The show continued with “Universal Speaking“, “Here Ever After” and “Danny’s Song” that includes Frusciante’s guitar solo at the end. Other songs the band played “Suck My Kiss“, “Californication” were the crowd got super excited singing along with them and “Give It Away” to finish their set before going back to stage and then come back with “Soul To Squeeze” and to finish “By The Way“.

It was a total of 18 songs that the band played to their fans and we cannot be happier to have them as the final act closing ACL 2022.

We cannot thank enough the ACL Team for their support and help making sure we as media had everything we needed to cover this amazing festival!

See y’all next year!
