What a way to start Lolla 2023!
Lollapalooza 2023 kicked off with a bang, and we were lucky enough to be there to witness it.
With beautiful weather and great vibes all around, the first day of the festival was nothing else but incredible acts and a great experience.
We were able to catch the performances of Dope Lemon from Australia, Joy Oladokun, Lovejoy, Frank Moody, the new Korean sensation NewJeans, Carly Rae Jepsen, the country music of Lainey Wilson, and the awesome show of the first Latin artist headlining the festival, Karol G.
Here are some of the highlights from the first day of the festival, featuring some of the biggest names in music.
During the first hours of the festival we were able to enjoy the great shows of Dope Lemon coming from Australia, Joy Oladokun, Lovejoy and the disco-funk music of England duo Frank Moody.
NEWJEANS
South Korean girl group NewJeans was incredible.
The band conformed by Mini, Hanna, Danielle, Herein and Hyein knows how to maintain their fans connected to their act.
For more than an hour that included 12 songs such as “Hype Boy”, “Cookie”, “Ditto” and “New Jeans”, the K-pop new sensation kept the fans singing and screaming to every thing they were doing on stage.
They’re fun, they’re cute, and they’re talented which creates the perfect combination to be an amazing band with a great future ahead.
CARLY RAE JEPSEN
Carly Rae Jepsen show last night! She was amazing, energetic, and charming. She sang all her hits, from “Call Me Maybe” to “I Really Like You” to “Cut to the Feeling”. The crowd was singing along and dancing with her.
She It was a magical night and we’re so glad we got to see her live. She is a pop queen and fans really love her!
LAINEY WILSON
Adding a touch of country music to the festival, we had Lainey Wilson in one of the festival’s stages.
She is a rising star in the country music scene and she proved it with her amazing vocals, catchy songs, and charismatic stage presence. She sang tracks from her discography, Bell Bottom Country, as well as some of her older hits and covers. She had the crowd singing along, dancing, and cheering throughout the night.
Lainey Wilson is not your typical country singer. She has a unique style that blends traditional country with rock, soul, and blues influences. She wears bell-bottom jeans, cowboy boots, and a hats She has a distinctive voice that can go from sweet to sassy in a heartbeat. She writes songs that are honest, relatable, and empowering. She is not afraid to speak her mind and share her stories.
KAROL G
For the first time, Lollapalooza has a Latin artist as a headliner.
And what better way to introduce this style than with the incredible presence of Karol G, the Colombian reggaeton star who has taken the world by storm. She brought her Latin flair and charisma to the stage, performing some of her most popular songs like “Tusa”, “Bichota”, and “Ay Dios Mio”.
She also showed off her impressive dance moves and her stunning outfits. She had the audience moving their hips and waving their hands in the air.
Joined by a band conformed only by women, she was a firecracker of energy and talent.
It was a memorable day for everyone and for all the music lovers who attended Lollapalooza 2023. We can’t wait to see what the next days will bring.
