A living legend in town!
We witnessed another great show in San Antonio, TX last night, and we couldn’t be happier that we were there.
It was at the Majestic Theatre where Elvis Costello and The Imposters delivered an incredible show as part of the 7-0-7 Tour. It was a magnificent odyssey through musical realms, transcended time and solidified the status of a living legend.
From the opening chords, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation, and as Costello graced the stage wearing a Scottish Highland dress, a collective roar echoed the audience’s adoration. The Imposters’ dynamic synergy formed by Steve Nieve on keyboards, Davey Faragher on bass, Pete Thomas on drums and local Charlie Sexton on lead guitar, added a thrilling layer to the sonic tapestry. Costello’s voice, weathered yet resonant, breathed life into classics and newer gems alike.
The setlist, a meticulous curation, traversed his extensive catalog, weaving a narrative of love, rebellion, and societal reflections. Hits like “A Town Called Riddle”, “Radio Radio” and “Alison” elicited ecstatic cheers, while deeper cuts showcased a profound musical journey. The band’s virtuosity shone, creating a seamless fusion of rock, new wave, and punk.
Costello’s interaction with the audience was both charming and insightful, forging a personal connection with the audience.
