BORN OF OSIRIS
Kicking off the night with a blast of energy, Born of Osiris took the stage, and the crowd erupted with excitement. Born of Osiris proved they are masters of their craft and are continuing to push the boundaries of progressive metalcore.
HANABIE
Next up, Hanabie took the stage and immediately set the tone for what would be an intense night of music. The Japanese metalcore band, known for blending metalcore with elements of J-pop and electronica, stunned the Texas crowd with their unique sound. Tracks like ” Metamorphose!” and ” NEET Game” showcased the band’s ability to mix high-energy breakdowns with playful, yet fierce, vocals from Yukina.
The crowd responded enthusiastically, feeding off the band’s infectious energy as mosh pits began to form, and fans headbanged along to every heavy riff. Hanabie’s stage presence was magnetic, and their performance left a lasting impression on the San Antonio crowd. While they are relatively new on the scene, Hanabie’s blend of melodic elements, hardcore breakdowns, and electronic flourishes made them stand out as a force to be reckoned with. It was clear that the audience, whether they were familiar with the band or not, were won over by the sheer power and originality of their set. By the time their set ended, the crowd was fully amped, and Hanabie had firmly established themselves as a band to watch.
JINJER
Finally, it was time for the headliners, and Jinjer did not disappoint. As the lights dimmed and the intro to “Just Another” began, the crowd roared in anticipation. The Ukrainian groove metal powerhouse took the stage, and from the first note, it was clear that this would be a night to remember. Frontwoman Tatiana Shmaylyuk commanded the stage with her otherworldly vocal range, seamlessly transitioning from angelic cleans to brutal growls that shook the venue. Her presence was captivating, and the band’s performance was equally impressive.
Jinjer ripped through a setlist that included fan-favorites like “Sit Stay,” “Ape,” and “Wallflower,” each song showcasing their technical proficiency and groove-laden sound. Bassist Eugene Abdukhanov’s intricate bass lines, along with the tight drumming of Vladislav Ulasevich, created a thick, heavy foundation, while guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov delivered riffs that were both complex and crushing. The crowd was fully immersed, headbanging and singing along with every word. Tatiana’s performance of “Pisces” was a highlight, with the crowd going wild as she flawlessly executed the now-iconic switch between her clean and harsh vocals.
Jinjer’s connection with the audience was undeniable, and the energy in the room was electric from start to finish. By the time they closed with “Vortex,” the crowd was left breathless, in awe of the sheer power and precision of the band. Jinjer had brought their A-game, leaving San Antonio fans exhilarated and hungry for more.
