San Antonio became the stage for the last heartbeat of The Weeknd’s world.

San Antonio’s Alamodome pulsed with history last night as The Weeknd brought his sprawling After Hours Til Dawntour to its final stop. The air buzzed with both euphoria and melancholy, as fans packed the venue knowing they were witnessing the last chapter of a persona that reshaped modern pop. Abel Tesfaye, who has publicly stated his intent to retire The Weeknd moniker, delivered a cinematic spectacle that blurred the line between a farewell and a rebirth.

The stage was massive, drenched in deep reds and icy blues, evoking both the glitz of nightclubs and the chill of loneliness that has always haunted his music. The surprises were plentiful — Brazilian star Anitta lit up the crowd during “São Paulo,” while Playboi Carti injected chaos and fire into “Timeless” and “Rather Lie.” By the time the night closed with “House Of Ballons” and “Moth To A Flame,” it felt like a requiem — and a celebration.

We couldn’t let history pass us by — The Weeknd’s final San Antonio show demanded to be witnessed, and we were there to capture it all!

THE WEEKND

AFTER HOURS TIL DAWN TOUR

From the opening note of “The Abyss,” the Alamodome was swallowed in shadows, only to erupt seconds later in waves of light and sound. The Weeknd moved across the massive stage like a man tethered between two worlds — one saying goodbye, the other reaching for what’s next. His voice, sleek yet raw, threaded through “Wake Me Up” and “After Hours” with near-perfect precision, hitting those aching falsettos that cut through the roar of 50,000 fans.

As the night unfolded, the setlist became less of a playlist and more of a time machine. “Can’t Feel My Face” brought pure serotonin, a reminder of his crossover into global superstardom, while “The Hills” dragged us back into the shadows of his darker origins. By the time “I Feel It Coming” rippled across the venue, the entire crowd had turned into a choir.

But it was the collaborations that made the night historic. Anitta’s cameo on “São Paulo” was electric, blending sultry samba vibes with Tesfaye’s velvet delivery. Then came Playboi Carti, whose manic energy detonated the stage on “Timeless” and “Rather Lie,” shifting the mood into chaos before Abel reeled it back.

Closing with “Blinding Lights,” “House of Balloons,” and finally “Moth To A Flame,” Tesfaye stood still for a moment, soaking it all in. It wasn’t just a concert; it was a send-off. A bridge burned and a new one waiting to be built.

After Hours, In Style!

If the Alamodome was Tesfaye’s cathedral, then the fans were its stained glass — dazzling, eccentric, and impossible to ignore. Sequined jackets shimmered under the lights, paired with leather gloves and glittery masks that nodded to After Hours’ noir aesthetic. Some leaned into the Vegas-goth vibe with crimson suits and dark shades, while others embraced futuristic silver and LED accessories straight out of Dawn FM.

Couples wore matching “XO” gear, and a sea of glowing heart-shaped sunglasses pulsed in rhythm with “Blinding Lights.” It was less a crowd, more a living extension of the spectacle itself.

From the Shadows: The Rise of The Weeknd

Before he became the face of global pop, Abel Tesfaye was a mystery. In 2010, a set of anonymous tracks uploaded to YouTube under the name The Weeknd sparked whispers across Toronto’s underground scene. Dark, atmospheric, and dripping with vulnerability, those early songs became the mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence— cult classics that cemented his identity as a genre-bender between R&B, indie, and electronic.

What made him unique was his ability to soundtrack both heartbreak and hedonism in the same breath. By the time “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Starboy” catapulted him to the top of the charts, he was no longer just an outsider — he was the architect of a new pop language.

Now, as he retires The Weeknd and steps into Abel Tesfaye fully, the world is left marveling at a decade-long metamorphosis unlike any other.

The final moments of The Weeknd’s Alamodome show felt like standing at the edge of a cliff — exhilarating, terrifying, unforgettable. Fans screamed the lyrics, some with tears streaming, others dancing as if trying to hold onto the persona slipping away before their eyes. It wasn’t just the end of a tour; it was the end of an era.

Abel Tesfaye didn’t simply close the book on The Weeknd — he lit it on fire in front of us, and the flames were beautiful. Between the pyrotechnics, surprise guests, and songs that defined a generation, the night proved that his music doesn’t just belong to stadiums — it belongs to people’s lives, their heartbreaks, and their moments of joy.

Whatever Abel creates next, one truth is clear: The Weeknd may be gone, but his impact will echo long after the final lights dimmed in San Antonio.
