The legendary English rock band selected San Antonio as part of small tour in the US

Having announced a very small 4-date North American tour, three of which will take place in Texas, we should definitely feel lucky enough to have been able to attend.

And for our fortune, the second show of New Order was right here, in San Antonio.

It was at the AT&T Center where this show happened and we were there to bring you photos and talk about what we experienced!

MISS GRIT

The night started with music played by DJ Little Martin who was the one in charge to prepare the mood for the people who started arriving early to the venue. And it was a little after 8 pm when New York-based musician Margaret Sohn, known as Miss Grit walked out on stage.

Her music could be considered a futuristic pop style where she mixes harmonic synths with hypnotic drum beats and a great soft voice.

She performed for about 40mins leaving the mood at the ATT&T Center ready for what was coming ahead.

NEW ORDER

It was 9:00 pm when the lights went down and they were there, Bernard Summer, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham, and Tom Chapman, all the current members of New Order ready to rock the stage!

The show began with the great song from 2001’s album Get Ready “Crystal” and the audience immediately stood up and started dancing and singing along. Next song was another classic from the 90s “Regret” but when Tom’s bass riff of “Age Of Consent” started the screams of thousands of fans inside the venue gave us goosebumps.

Academic” was next on the list, but to hear Bernard playing the melodica on “Your Silent Face” was magical.

A tour through their discography!

Having 10 Studio albums and another dozen of Compilation albums and Live albums, the band has so many songs and it is great to hear how they selected songs from basically every album. They jumped from “The Perfect Kiss” and “Sub-Culture” of their 1985 album Low Life to “Be A Rebel” 2021 and “Tutti Frutti” of 2015.

But it was imminent that the audience was going to go crazy when songs “Bizarre Love Triangle“, “Blue Monday” and “Temptation” were played.

Those are the special moments at a show when we can say the long lines to get inside the venue and the wait to hear those songs live are totally worth it!

REMEMBERING IAN CURTIS AND JOY DIVISION

The band took a small break and after a few minutes, they came back for a magnificent way to close the show.

With images of Ian Curtis on screen, the band performed 3 songs from Joy Division, “Atmosphere“, “Transmission” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart” before saying goodbye to the audience.
