A beautiful evening in Austin city!
Wow, wow, wow! What a night! We went to see Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez show at the Moody Center in Austin, TX and all we can say is that, WOW! They were both amazing!
The show was part of their “Gloria” tour, which is named after Sam’s grandmother who passed away last year.
The tour is a tribute to her and to all the people who inspire them to make music and in a beautiful way, Sam Smith is transmitting an incredible vibe back to his fans from stage.
JESSIE REYEZ
The concert started at 7:55 PM with Canadian singer Jessie Reyez, who is a rising star in the pop scene. She has a powerful voice and a charismatic presence and her fans really adore her.
She sang some of her popular songs like “Shutter Island”, “Break Me Down”, “Mutual Friends” and “Figures”.
Her voice is so powerful and emotional, and her performace is full of interaction with the crowd. She’s sweet and funny at the same time, and you could tell she loves her fans and appreciates their support.
At one point in the show, Jessie received flowers from fan Janiekas, and the singer took the time to let her talk in front of the audience.
Janiekas told Jessie she saw her at the San Antonio show and she was so close but she never noticed her so she was glad she did during this show in Austin. She expressed Jessie genuinely has changed her life in good ways through her music and how amazing of a person that she is.
Everyone in the crowd was happy to see this beautiful moment between the artist and the fan.
SAM SMITH
It was 9:05 when the music at the venue stopped and lights were slowly turned off… it was the time to see the sensational Sam Smith!
Dressed with a spectacular adorned golden corset dripping with pearls and crystals, there he was, on top of a structure with the shape of a woman lying down while the crowd euphorically screamed.
Smith didn’t want to waste any time and dropped the international hit “Stay With Me” to an audience who didn’t stop singing every word along with the artist.
Visibly happy, Sam couldn’t stop smiling and waving to everyone in the venue, specially to the fans in the front row who were screaming their lungs out every time the singer was getting closer to them.
I'm not the only one
Yes, that’s the title of the second song he played, “I’m Not The Only One”, but trust me when I say I’m not the only one who fell in love with Sam Smith last night after his amazing performance.
We were honestly captivated!
He is such a talented singer and performer, and he really knows how to connect with the audience. His voice was flawless, and he had so much energy and charisma on stage.
Overall, it was an impressive show full of great songs, incredible production on stage, and a real artist who sings with so much passion and emotion that transmits and incredible vibe.
The crowd, and us as well, were singing along, dancing, and cheering throughout the night.
Sam Smith will finish his North American tour in Forth Worth on September 07 and Houston on September 08 before heading to México and a long tour in Asia.
