The Mexican legendary band took everyone on a mystic trip!
We just had the opportunity to see Caifanes live at The Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, TX and we have to say it was a surreal experience seeing Saul Hernandez and gang playing in front of us.
For those who don’t know them, Caifanes is a legendary rock band from México that has been making music since the 80s. They have a loyal fan base that spans generations and cultures. Their songs are full of emotion, energy and passion. They mix rock, folk, blues and psychedelic influences to create a unique sound that is unmistakable.
As part of the second leg of their International tour, they included the Alamo City before their North American is over and travel back to play in México, so we couldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this sold-out show and bring you photos and tell you about what we experienced.
THE SHOW
It was 9:30 pm when the stage’s lights at The Aztec Theatre were turned off and Saul Hernandez, Diego Herrera, Alfonso André, Marco Rentería and Rodrigo Baills walked in on stage.
The screaming of the crowd was impressive, the moment they were anxiously waiting for had arrived, Caifanes was in the house!
“Buenas noches raza! Bienvenidos, esto es para ti!” (Good evening everybody, welcome, this is for you!) Saul told the crowd, and the song “Hasta Que Dejes De Respirar” notes started in the back.
Caifanes is more than just a band, they are a cultural phenomenon that transcends borders and time. They have inspired millions of people with their music and their message. They have proven that they are still relevant and vital after more than three decades of career. They have shown that they are not afraid to speak their truth and stand up for what they believe in.
The concert was amazing from start to finish. They took us through a trip of their discography and the show was one hit after another. The lights of the cell phones kept illuminating the venue because everyone wanted to keep a piece of every song the band was playing.
From some of the classic hits like “Miedo”, “El Elefante”, and “Ayer Me Dijo Un Ave” to “Detras De Los Cerros”, “Afuera”, “Nubes” and “Viento”, it was just incredible!
The crowd was singing along to every word, jumping, dancing and cheering. The band interacted with the audience, thanking them for their support and dedication.
The band left the stage for a few minutes just to come back with three more awesome songs, “No Dejes Que”, “La Célula Que Explota” and for the very end, the song that had everyone dancing, “La Negra Tomasa”.
