Their first time in Texas and it was incredible!
The Last Dinner Party’s performance last night at the Scoot Inn in Austin, TX was a breathtaking spectacle that left the audience captivated. Us included!
This quintet band from London, UK is promoting their debut album “Prelude To Ecstasy” and dear friends, if you haven’t heard it, it is one of the best albums of the year. But honestly, seeing them live gives a total perspective of the fantastic band they are.
The sold-out show gathered people from all over the area. Fans didn’t want to miss the unique opportunity to see them playing live and in return, the band offered an incredible performance full of incredible songs to a crowd that never stopped singing and jumping to every note they hit.
Of course, we couldn’t miss this opportunity either and experience their theatrical atmosphere firsthand.
DAIISTAR
The evening started with local band DAIISTAR whose performance was an absolute revelation, transcending the boundaries of conventional music with their psychedelic presence.
As the band describes themselves, they took their inspiration from the neo-psychedelic era of the 80s and 90s and that eclectic blend of sounds and styles mesmerized the crowd. Their setlist included songs of their latest album “Good Time” such as “Star Starter”, “Parallel”, “Repeater” and “Heathens Gate.”
The synergy between Alex Capistran (guitar/vocals), Nick Cornetti (drums), Misti Hamrick (bass) and Derek Strahan (keys) was evident, enhancing the cohesion of their sound and the impact of their delivery.
Keep an eye on this band, we are sure they will keep bringing awesome music.
THE LAST DINNER PARTY
From the moment Abigail Morris (vocals), Lizzie Mayland (vocals, guitar), Emily Roberts (lead guitar, mandolin, flute), Georgia Davies (bass), and Aurora Nishevci (keyboards, vocals) took the stage, it was clear that this wasn’t just a concert—it was a musical journey filled with passion, energy, and raw talent.
The Last Dinner Party started their show with the album’s title ” Prelude to Ecstasy” together with “Burn Alive” and “Caesar On A TV Screen” which marked the vibe of what was coming ahead.
Lead singer Abigail Morris was clearly happy with the audience’s excitement of seeing them live for the first time. She didn’t stop dancing, jumping and smiling during the whole show. She possesses a unique voice making the sound of the band so special. Hard not to love them.
Their setlist continued with “The Feminine Urge”, “Beautiful Boy” and “On Your Side”, and each song was delivered with impeccable precision and infectious enthusiasm. From rock to pop, and to something we could call baroque pop, The Last Dinner Party showcased their versatility and virtuosity with every note.
Each member of the band brought their unique flair and expertise, seamlessly blending together to create a sonic tapestry that transcended genres and captivated the senses.
Due to a storm warning, the band had to cut their setlist and started playing their hit of the moment “Nothing Matters” in the middle of a frantic crowd. But to everyone’s surprise, they finished the song and were informed they could continue with the show! They added “My Lady of Mercy” and “Godzilla.” By then it was pouring but fans were reluctant to let the magic of the evening come to an end and stay with the band until the last second.
The Last Dinner Party had delivered a performance for the ages, leaving everyone in attendance with memories that would last a lifetime and a renewed appreciation for the power of live music.
The band will continue their tour in the US and other parts of the world, including some of the best international musical festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury in the UK and Fuji Rock in Japan.
We’re pretty sure we will continue hearing great songs from the band!
