A night of indie-pop charm at a sold-out show!
San Antonio fans were in for a treat last night as Wallows took over The Espee with their electric “Model & More” tour, delivering a show bursting with energy, nostalgia, and indie-pop perfection. Under the open skies of this historic venue, the Los Angeles-based trio brought their unmistakable sound to life, leaving fans screaming every lyric and swaying with every beat. The atmosphere was electric — from the shimmering lights to the packed crowd full of vintage tees and incredible vibe. Opening the night was Porches, the brainchild of Aaron Maine, who set the mood with a synth-heavy, emotionally charged performance that had everyone swaying.
Known for their seamless blend of alt-rock, synth-pop, and surfy West Coast vibes, Wallows’ live set was both polished and raw — the best of both worlds. With a killer setlist and incredible crowd connection, this night in San Antonio proved exactly why Wallows continue to climb as one of Gen Z’s most adored bands. It was more than a concert — it was a celebration of sound, style, and shared joy.

PORCHES
Porches opened the night with a stunningly textured and emotionally vivid performance. Led by Aaron Maine, the NYC-based project delivered a dreamlike set filled with lo-fi aesthetics, synth-driven grooves, and vulnerable vocals that cast a spell over the early crowd. Opening with “Rag”, Maine’s voice melted into hazy guitar layers and shimmering beats. The performance felt both raw and artfully composed, setting a perfect atmospheric tone for the night.
Wearing his signature minimalist style and occasionally engaging the audience with a subtle smile or a shy “thank you,” Aaron captivated listeners with a setlist that included highlights like “Bread Believer,” “Crying At The End,” and the fan-favorite “Country.” His music felt intimate and cinematic, and it filled The Espee with an introspective, late-night radio kind of energy. The crowd, many of whom may have discovered Porches for the first time, quickly fell under his hypnotic spell.
What stood out was the balance between experimental edge and emotional accessibility. Porches didn’t need flashy visuals or big production — it was all about the mood, the sound, and the sincerity. By the end of the set, the crowd had clearly connected with his artistry, cheering enthusiastically and leaning in for every note. As the stage lights dimmed and the anticipation for Wallows grew, Porches had already made his mark — subtle, powerful, and undeniably cool.

WALLOWS
Model & More Tour
Wallows hit the stage with the ferocity of a band on a mission — to light up San Antonio with their unique blend of garage rock grit, melodic nostalgia, and Gen Z cool. From the opening notes of “Your Apartment”, the crowd erupted in ecstatic cheers, singing along from the very first line. Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston were clearly thrilled to be in Texas, and their chemistry was palpable.
The band’s tight musicianship and playful banter gave the show an intimate, almost house-party vibe — but on a massive scale. The setlist was a perfect balance of older favorites like “Are You Bored Yet?” and “Scrawny,” with fresh cuts from the Model EP that had fans vibing hard. The Espee lit up with phone lights during the more emotional tracks and turned into a full-on mosh of joy during upbeat bangers like “Remember When.”
Dylan’s vocals were on point all night, while Braeden and Cole kept the rhythm section pulsing with precision and fire. Their stage setup was minimalist but sleek, letting the music and crowd connection take center stage.

Not Just Another Indie Band!
Wallows are more than just an indie band — they’re a phenomenon born from lifelong friendship and creative synergy. Formed in Los Angeles, the trio — Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston — have been playing together since their early teens under various monikers before officially becoming Wallows in 2017. Their breakout single, “Pleaser,” quickly gained traction, introducing the world to their infectious blend of 2000s nostalgia and modern alt-pop sensibility.
Their debut album “Nothing Happens” (2019) solidified their presence, with hit singles like “Are You Bored Yet?”featuring Clairo capturing hearts across platforms. They’ve since released acclaimed follow-ups and EPs, continually expanding their sound without losing their identity. Their music reflects youthful uncertainty, self-awareness, and emotional honesty — qualities that resonate deeply with a new generation. As their sold-out shows and passionate fan base prove, Wallows are here to stay, and their evolution has only just begun.

Wallows’ show at The Espee was a celebration of sound, emotion, and connection. Wallows gave fans exactly what they came for and more, offering a set packed with anthemic highs, introspective lows, and everything in between. With Porches opening the night in dreamy fashion and Wallows closing with a triumphant bang, San Antonio got a full-spectrum indie experience that’s bound to echo in fans’ memories.
The “Model & More” tour is a statement of artistic growth and passion, and watching it unfold under the stars in Texas was nothing short of magic. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this night reminded us why live music matters — it brings people together in the most visceral and joyful way. Here’s hoping Wallows make their way back to Texas soon — because this crowd is already waiting.
Until next time, Wallows — San Antonio loves you!
